MANDATORY
REQUIREMENT FOR ALL RN’S AND LPN’S FOR
EVERY LICENSE RENEWAL.
This
new mandatory course meets the Florida State
Legislature training requirement, (Florida
Statues 456.013), on prevention of medical
errors and follows the guidelines of the
Florida State Board of Nursing. Two contact
hours are required for license renewal.
Examples of medical errors discussed are:
improper medication administration, patient
falls, responsibilities for reporting and
recognizing error prone situations .
Preventable errors occur at alarming rates,
therefore, it is necessary to review factors
that impact the error rate and develop and
review policies and procedures to prevent
them.
